Making Performance Accessible

Stimulating performance has never been so accessible. And it´s driven by Jaguar innovation. The 2.2 litre high performance turbocharged diesel engine joins the powerful 2.1 litre and 3.0 litre V6 petrol engines. In the 2.2 litre diesel the latest generation common rail technology has been harnessed to deliver true Jaguar sporting performance. For immediate throttle response and faster control, especially when fully loaded or towing, the diesel uses electrically controlled vanes.

All Wheel Drive

Traction4, standard on the 3.0 V6 LE, 3.0 V6 Sport and 3.0 V6 Luxury, gives exceptional road-holding and handling. It assures road grip when pulling away and accelerating and is designed to reduce engine torque and use the brakes to automatically minimise wheel spin.

Jaguar´s commitment to active technology has one aim: to give you optimum control whatever the circumstances. Dynamic Stability Control is standard across the range and is designed to help maintain control and balance. ABS reduces wheel lock-up under heavy braking, even in wet conditions. Emergency Brake Assist, to help faster braking and steering control.

Safety

Almost twenty years of computer time – 175,000 hours – went into the development of X-TYPE´s safety performance for total confidence and improved passenger protection. Deformable crumple zones front and rear, engineered to absorb and deflect energy. All doors reinforced with anti-intrusion bars helping protect against side impact, and dual-stage front airbags designed to deploy as required for driver and front passenger protection.

Body Highlights

The new face is bold and contemporary, the lines and stance more sporting, the signature detailing unmistakeable. X-TYPE perfectly balances performance with versatility, a dynamic character with great looks, luxury and practicality.

Power folding door mirrors fold inwards towards the car to help when parking in tight spaces, on the roadside, or going through a narrow gap. These are standard on all models. All models feature power adjustable heated door mirrors.

Optional Xenon headlights with automatic levelling ensure brighter, safer night-time driving. They are optional on all models. Front foglights are standard throughout the range as are automatic headlights where sensors automatically detect light levels and switch on dipped headlights.

Rear Parking Aid uses ultrasonic sensors in the rear bumper to detect unseen obstacles - such as hidden kerbs and low bollards. Parking aid with front and rear sensors is standard on 3.0 Luxury.
